Mother Trees is supporting Fanm Limye Association in Haiti,

As you know from our last correspondence, Prosperity Catalyst, Inc. is closing its doors.  As we localize our work, Fanm Limye Association, the partner through which we have implemented all our work in Haiti, has developed its own website.

Over the past months, Prosperity Catalyst, Inc. has negotiated an agreement with Mother Trees, a US nonprofit that focuses on promoting tree planting and sustainable agricultural practices all over the world.  Mother Trees will serve as the US 501c3 for Fanm Limye, so that any individual or organization who wishes to continue supporting Fanm Limye’s work in Haiti can continue to do so and receive a tax deduction from the IRS for their donation.

Give a Hand to Make the Better World

John Leary, the Executive Director of Mother Trees, has decades of experience in agroforestry and designed the agroforestry training that we provided to Fanm Limye’s beekeepers in Haiti. He has negotiated a grant for Fanm Limye Association from Veritree, an organization that serves as a broker between businesses that want to invest in tree planting and verified tree planting NGOs around the world. This grant will fund the planting of X trees on the farms of the women’s beekeeping network that Fanm Limye has built over the years with your support.

Despite all the security challenges, Fanm Limye continues to be fully operational in Haiti. It has just completed a Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Assessment of women and children in its beekeeping communities; is responding to the growing malnutrition rates, particularly among the internally displaced people who are flowing into six of the communes where Fanm Limye operates; has just completed building and distributing X hives and bee colonies and is planning a new program to incorporate women who have been displaced by gang violence into the existing beekeeping groups.
